Tuna Fish

Maleficent you ROCK!!! It's OFFICIAL, I'm moving in with you! :D :D

*OHD runs off to pack up her place, as she drools all over herself thinking of all the good food Maleficent makes!!*

I forgot to mention...as much as I LOOOOOOOOOVE tuna all this talk in the news (local) is freaking me out about mercury levels and neurological damage. What do you guys thinking about this? Should I just chill out and enjoy my tuna or take something to flush out the toxins as I continue to include it in my diet?

Tuna Fish mixed with ranch dressing and sweet relish gives a great diversion.

this thread rocks! I was just sitting here with my tuna/orange pepper/green onion & mayo combo thinking 'wow, I can't eat this much longer unless I make it interesting

My mom used to make some sort of tuna/chick pea/vinegar salad which as unappealing as it sounds, was actually realllly good.

i saw something the other day,. and i don't remember where i saw it - but it was something to the effect that you should limit your tuna to 3 -4 days a week...

and avoid swordfish if you can... swordfish apparantly is very high in mercury... which is too bad i love it grilled.

man that does sound good, i'm going to have to try it. i love the combo of salsa and sour cream, very good!

I think this is disgusting, but you may like it

My husband's favorite thing to do with tuna is take it out of the can, put it on bread with jelly and eat away... doesn't matter which jelly to him. YUCK:eek:

I like it the original way... plain or with mayo, pickles, onions, and eggs.

Does anyone know anything better to put in a can of tuna fish to make a good tuna fish sandwich that isn't mayo or low fat mayo?

I use MisoMayo. Get it at my local health food store. According to SoGood! the company that makes it, its:
"No Cholesterol
Dairy Free
Sugar Free
Wheat Free
Eggless
Made from SOY
Non-GMO Ingredients
Low in Saturated Fat
Zero Trans Fats"

I'm not a fan of mayonaise so I cant say it taste the same as regular mayo since its been years since I have touched that stuff.

I had some tonight actually. Mixed the tuna with the misomayo & some wasabi (try a LITTLE, then add to taste... stuff goes a LONG way & I have ruined this by not watching how much I added...green tuna = a LOT of water needed!). I take this mixed & roll it in Nori sheets with sushi rice & sticks of red pepper & carrot. One of my favorite meals. Feels like I am eating right.

I love the wasabi powder mixed in with tuna, shrimp, or chicken salad... it really adds a great flavor, but you're right, too much and it alters the flavor

I use horseradish sauce on my tune. It adds that special *zing* I also like salsa.

Salsa is a wonderfull food!!

Jay:cool:

Yes, yellow mustard and relish make tuna taste great.. I know it sounds gross, but my boyfriend ate it every day for lunch when he played football and lost a ton of weight.. probably because unsweetened relish and yellow mustard have no calories!! I have been eating it during the wokr week for lunch, at first I was skeptical about the taste but it actually tastes great.

You know I'm all for salsa, but these two just didn't go together for me.

I think I'll stick with my half a green bell pepper, diced, and tablespoon of light ranch.
