tummy fat

Hi i am John and I am 40 today, iam 8 stone 7 pounds and like it but i have a flabby tummy please help.:confused4::confused4:

I am going to go for some guesswork here and accept you correcting me where I am miles off.
Unless you are exceptionally short I will assume you are underweight. Naturally skinny as I was at 5'10" I was still 9 stone when climbing and distance running.
I am also going to assume that exercise is not key to your life as those our age who train a lot tend not to suffer with this issue.
Being UK based I will also assume you like a weekend drink, like virtually everyone I see around me every day. Being Welsh, no, not going there.

The issue if you are underwieght and inactive is that you will simply store excess where ever the body wants to put it and if there is very little muscle holding you in place this excess will simply bulge out, it will be more noticeable at the midsection but in truth it would be the same elsewhere though you will notice it less around the arms, legs etc.

You like the low weight so the activities you would want to do would likely be aerobic, walking, running, cycling, rowing, skiing etc.
The skiing may not be as crazy as it first appears, there are cross country ski equivilants you can use on the roads that really challenge the core while being stable and steady enough to do for a good duration. Also being 40 you are supposed to be doing something unusual or bizarre, this would fit the bill nicely and do you good.

If you enjoy a few beers at the weekend and have been doing so for a few decades, this may easily be the issue. It doesn't mean you have to stop drinking, only weirdos like me are teetotal, but it does mean those calories have to be burnt and you need to trian to undo the damage.
