Trying something new.

Hey folks. my name's Corey. I'm twenty years old and currently weigh about 278 pounds. This is a lot less than I weighed when I first started pushing myself to get healthy; I weighed 333 pounds at my heaviest. Unfortunately, this is a little bit more than I weighed when I was at my lowest...about 250 pounds. I know what it takes to lose a lot of weight, but it's not always easy to break these bad habits and addictions. I'm hoping that being here and being a part of a community like this can help me get back on the right track, and I'm looking forward to meeting other people in the same boat.

Welcome to the forum, Corey. And congrats on the success so far! What have you been doing to lose the weight up to this point?

The biggest thing seemed to be the fact that I cut most meat completely out of my diet. For the length of time that I was doing really well the only meat I would ever eat would be turkey, and even that would be pretty rarely. I was basically on a diet of fruits, vegetables, and Boca Burgers. Pretty much as soon as that ended I gradually started gaining weight back.

what about exercise Corey..you have not mentioned that part. Weight loss without exercise will not be sustainable...Make, keeping fit your goal and lifestyle

I never cut down on meat personally, but each person is different. I cut out carbs and fat to a large extent...but whatever works for you is the best.

Keep it up

Hey Corey, what are some of the reasons that you stopped following your diet plan if you were doing so well on it?

Have you looked at the Weight Loss Diary section? Starting a journal there can be very helpful in terms of staying on track and accountable for what you eat and the amount of exercise that you get!
