Hey Everybody

Is this true I heard that If you dont get enough sleep you gain weight?

I havent been getting enough sleep. I be going to sleep at 3 in the morning beacuse I always have email to finsh typeing and school work. So Im worrie If I dont et enough sleep I will gain weight.
 
Only thing that comes to mind when I think about this is that if your body does not get enough sleep it may raise the levels of cortisol in your body due to the stress of not sleeping. This can contribute to weight gain if your cortisol levels are raised, yes.
 
Dan John said he started sleeping 10 hours a night and he started losing weight without changing anything else to his eating/lifting routine.

I think hte decrease in GH from less sleeping would suck.
 
maybe spend less time worrying about insignificant emails that don't really NEED to be finished, and more time thinking about your health
 
The argument could work both ways.

It you dont get enough sleep then you wont have the energy to train as hard. But if you get too much sleep you may be spending too much time relaxed and not enough time burning calories.

Also If you spend less time asleep you may spend more time eatting, which is bad if your eatting the wrong foods.
 
No, what you need to do is revaluate your priorities. What's more important, training, or school? For example, what are you doing all day that you need to stay up until three doing schoolwork, which should be on top of your priorities. If the lack of sleep is affecting your school, then sleep when you normally train.

Some people can fit both into their lives. If you can't, then don't try to settle for a median. Both will be lacking and you'll be just as unhappy. Pick one or the other.
