Travel and Exercising in Hotels

Anyone have any suggestions for working out while traveling? My BF travels for a living and he's trying to get himself in shape. He needs a workout that only uses body weight for resistance as I'm not sure what type of equipment airline security would let him through with (i.e. a jump rope to lasso the snack cart or choke out the pilot perhaps) He doesn't check bags when he travels, it's easier for him just to take carry-ons. He does carry a laptop so dvd suggestions would be great as well as any books on the subject. He does the basic pushups, sit-ups and jumping jacks but I'm sure there's more he can add or do. If the hotel has a gym he gets on the treadmill for a while but he's not consistent. I think he just needs a routine in front of his face until he gets more knowledgeable. Thanks!

Obviously there's the pushups/situps, but also, when I travel, I do shoulder presses and curls with my suitcase or duffel bag. A single suitcase or bag can be plenty heavy for one arm, and plenty adjustable just by adding clothes or shoes into it. Also, screw the treadmill, just get up early and run the real way.

I have gotten some small help out of isometrics, if there is no one else around.

If he has a travel partner that is interested, he can go through a full body towel workout in about 20 minutes that'll leave him drenched in sweat.

I never thought of using luggage as a weight!
I think he sticks to the treadmill because most of these hotels are on highways in unfamiliar areas.

Fill me in on the isometric stuff and whats the towel workout?
