Training for Power???

I have been strength training off and on for several years now. I also play a few different sports but never really used my gym time to specifically train for performance. I've been thinking of switching my focus to power and speed but I'm not sure what to do. I found a pretty good book on plyometrics but haven't seen much else. What else is out there? Any ideas?

What sports do you do? How old and how fit are you? What kind of work do you do, and do you have any injuries or other health issues?

Sorry this is so long, but I figure more info is better than not enough...
I play soccer between 1 and 3 times a week, depending on the season. I also play football, volleyball and tennis on weekends whenever I can. I've never played on an organized team growing up so I am fairly clueless as far as what a practice or sports training program should consist of. I'm 30 years old, 5' 10", around 180 lbs. and I'd guess my body fat is right around 10% (give or take a point or two).
By work, you mean in the gym, right? My work outs change every couple of months, usually when I see something in a magazine I want to try, but they include free weights and cardio (Yes, often on the same day). My standard workout is divided into three days: 1. Back and Bi's 2. Chest, Tri's and shoulders and 3. Legs. I pepper abs in every workout.
Injuries: I had a severe ankle sprain last September and it is still swollen but I don't have any pain and I can cut just fine on it as long as I wear a brace. Other than that I'm injury free (knock on wood)...

Muscular power involves generating as much force in a short period of time.

You can try explosive lifts such as the power clean, but you'd have to find someone to teach you the proper form and technique.

In terms of weight training exercises, you can simply try dropping the weight and lifting it as quickly as possible.
