Meal replacement is usually already high in protein. Some protein before workout is good, carbs post-workout is good also. The main thing is you're looking for a 24 hour nutrient intake. Keep your calories where they need to be and the rest will take care of itself.

what do you mean start meal replacements?

meal replacement are not adequate replacements for a healthy and varied diet despite their name. Replacing meals with these products will be shooting yourself in the foot

You know when I took up my diet and excercise program the biggest thing that I quit doing was drinking pop and eating sweets. I have really started toning up a great deal.I eat fruits and vegetables and lean sources of protein like fish and eggs as well as leaner cuts of beef and pork. I eat six times a day and workout 5 times a week for 2 hours at a time. Stick with good healthy foods and you should get along fine.
