Training days?

Long post probably, so sorry for the rant, but would appreciate it if you could help!

Basically to cut a long story short about 6-years ago I was around 17 stone and for about 2 years now I’m back at the weight I should be.

Now I want to build myself-up and put on muscle mass, which I am noticing the difference in a weight’s work-out 3 times a week over the last six or so months which is great.

It’s the days in-between those 3 days a week that I’m now thinking about.

I’m keen to up my work-out as despite putting on muscle I still have some ‘fleshy’ bits especially around my chest area from when I was a big boy!

So I was wondering if you could recommend any kind of exercises I could do to tone-up in the days I’m not doing weight training (ie cardio exercises).

I’m planning on playing football for an hour once a week so what other things could I do to ‘tone-up’? I don’t really like running. I was thinking maybe a night boxing? Would that be a good idea and would this harm my goal to build myself-up?

and is there anything else you can suggest?
