Training 7 days a week...

This is the first time I've 'felt like' training a full week without stopping, its not bad for you at all is it? I do a 3 day split at the gym and go running once or twice a week...

Simply put Yes. You would think that more you workout.. the more your busting your muscle up.. the bigger there going to get. Not at ALL the situation. You need a 24-48 hour break from the muscle you just impacked. Lean towards the 48 hour mark. This will give your muscles the right amount of time to rebuild themselves. By not letting them have the time to build themselves.. they are not going to grow at all.. your not going to gain size, nothing. You'll just end up losing muscle. Tweak your workout to make sure you have 48 hour break from the muscles you just worked.

I agree. Your body is simply that, a body. It isn't a machine that can run 24/7 as it needs time to recover. All you're doing is tearing your muslces even further without giving them the proper time to build themselves back up. So as it may feel good, you are actually weakening yourself.

Take AT LEAST 1-2 days off per week.

I think you guys missed the point a bit. He didn't say he was gonna be lifting 7 times in one week he just said that he's thinking of training for 7 days one week.

Well the thing is there's a difference because someone's who's new to exercise would probably work out 4 times a week for 30 minutes a session at the absolute maxiumum but a top level olympic athlete would train practically all day 7 days a week in the weeks/months leading into the competition. This probably hasn't really helped you but i guess it's up to you to decide what level you're at and work it from there. I go 7 days a week at times (and this doesn't include PE at school either) and i get on.

I understand what you mean.. but given what he's said already that he only runs once or twice a week.. its only knowledgable to think that he would be weight training the most. And since he has asked a question like this.. He wouldn't be training for the olympics. I strongly suggest you take up on mine and merci's advice. Allow your muscle time to repair, or nothing will happen.

Streamline I am not saying your wrong.. but given what he has said.. It would seem very unlikely he is training for anything big like a competition. I am very aware of professionals training 7 days a week.. but that takes years to know what works.. what doesn't.. and know your own body to the tee.

I agree, weights 3 days a week and cardio 4 is doable, but in the long run he could end up overtrained, it all depends on his body, right? I would advice strongly against it.

Yeah i completely agree, i was just laying it out for him that's all.

I already do a 3 day split which ensures each muscle group has 48 hours to recover before I hit it again.

I was just asking about 'training' 7 days a week, that's all.

But its all academic anyway, because I woke up today with that 'Monday Feeling' and have decided to have the day off lol

I'd have to see the weight routines.

its' doable though depending on the volume done per session, and whether your diet and sleep schedule provide enough recovery time.
