total noob here, advice please =)

hey guys, i've been looking over the forum and cannot decide where this post should go so here it am =P.

5"9 165 my body is still semi cut from high school (7 years ago) but i'm very disapointed with my apperance now =( i dont have much fat, i just dont have much muscle either =(.

i eat like crap, (whatever is closest to me, fast food etc) i dont drink much water either, lots of soda tho =P. i have a wedding to go to in 2.5 months and i want to be in as best shape as possible. in high school i was about the same weight but somehow much bigger and cut than i am now.

i would appreciate someone taking the time to tell me exactly what to do, how, and when to do it to get back to being bigger/cut. i'd even be willing to pay for some expert advice/ semi expert advice.

It would help if you gave more on what you wanted exactly. I recommend stopping or cutting down on your bad habits and just get more active. That should help you much. It's mainly your diet I bet.
 
Okay lets start from the beginning. At 165 I don't see where you wouldn't have much fat.. nor much muscle.. its either your a big guy.. or you got more muscle majority that you want to cut. A bf% would not only help you.. but help us figure out what kind of frame you got.

Facts: its either you build muscle(clean bulk), or you cut now.. lose the fat, and maintain the muscle you currently have. Doing both will be a long and slow process. To bulk you need to increase your calorie intake.. and to cut you need a calorie deficit.

What to advise you right now: give the soda up.. its nothing but terrible for you. Drink at least 8 cups of water a day. Learn to love it. because water is crucial for you.. maybe more than you would think. You'll soon learn.. fast food gets old.. give it up.. It does nothing but suite your appetite in the biggest and most unhealthy manner possible. Cut that out completely. If once a week you want to cheat.. then cheat.. one day of what you love.. thats always a suggestion so people do not lose motivation.

Now depending if you want to gain muscle.. take your intake now and add 500 calories.. if you want to cut now.. decrease 500 calories. Here are some links so you can educate yourself.

Get your diet in check. Only you can calculate what you need. With the magic 500 number. Grocery list will show all good foods to consume. Full body workout is your best bet.. cause you will need some weight training. Also look up HIIT for your cardio.. that help preserve more muscle.. instead of losing it. That should cover it. Anymore questions ask away.. I cannot guarantee anything in a 2.5 month period.. but by then.. following a new healthy way of living.. will definately bring you the results to increase your motivation and keep going after your 2.5 month has surpassed. Thats your goal. Now it takes dedication, motivation, and consistancy to get this done.. You can do it.. never doubt yourself. Good luck bro.

i guess i'm just semi cut right now... i'm really hard on myself for being (feeling) small. i think maybe i have a complex... either way, i want to get big and healthy.
