Top of my thigh

Im getting shooting pains in the top of my left thigh. Maybe this is from squats etc what do you people think I should do? Give squats a break for a few weeks?

When do you get the pain? while you squat, or after? what provokes it?

try to stand up and lift your knee up and outward. so you're flexing and abducting at the hip. Does provoke the pain?

And I should round up that no matter what anyone here says, no one here can give you a proper diagnosis over the internet, but we might be able to tell you if it's something serious and you should see a doc, or if you should just try to rest for a bit.
 
Ive had the weekend off and havnt really done much at all and my leg feels ok now but I think its when ive done alot with squats as I dont have a propper warm up for legs :(

Ive just done 2 sets of squats and now I know whats doing it. After the squats my legs start to hurt if I move then suddenly..
