Too much muscle...

I am 5'3, weigh 133 and have a lot of muscle on my body. Dont get me wrong, I love being strong and look muscular but sometimes it gets so be too much. My problem is that I go to the gym and really love lifting, more than cardio. I do still do cardio, but probably should do more. The thing is, i end up spending too much time at the gym then and sometimes cut back the cardio instead of the weights, causing me to bulk more. I really am trying to decrease the weights I am doing and increase the reps, but I really enjoy the feeling of "maxing out" although I know this causing the increase in muscle size.

SOmething else, I always tend to lift upper body because I like my upper body. I hate hate hate my legs and rarely do lower body lifing (besides the bike and maybe once a week of weights...maybe). Funny huh? Any advice in any of these areas??

eating more calories than you need for maintenance is how you add lean muscle mass. so if you're putting on too much lean mass, you need to eat less...and doing more cardio AND lower body lifting would be a good idea too.

First, we are all extremely jealous that you gain too much muscle. The rest of us all wish we had this problem! LOL.

I also hate cardio and legs so I force myself to do legs at least 2 times a week and also 20 minutes of HIIT twice a week. It does not need to take a lot of time, but it definately needs to be done for your overall fitness and long term good health! And after you do it for a few months it becomes a habit and becomes less unpleasant!

I think its funny that you are jelous of my ability to gain muscle like I do. Where all I want to do is stop this crazy bulking I got going on. lol. The grass is always greener...

I had a great work out yesterday, felt good going to bed, then woke up to see the number on the scale jump up. I am really going to try eating less...this whole eat small 6 times/day thing is not for me, and I really believe that. I lose weight and feel good when I eat a couple good meals, all light but healthy...not constantly eating little things. I can do this damnit!

not to be gross, but I usually weigh a pound or two more in the morning, before I drop the kids off at the pool and take a long piss.

and alittle extra sodium the day before will make you retain water.

I try not to weigh myself more htan once every two-three weeks.
