Too Much Jellybread

Hi!

I guess I don't know what to say here. First off, I'm 31 years old, 5'4" and about 166 lbs. No matter what I do, I gain weight it seems. I do have a goal in mind as of.. oh... 5 minutes ago. I would like to lose 10% of my weight. I don't have a time limit. I did my own calculations (which could be faulty!:)) and I have to take off about 16.6 lbs, leaving me at 149.4 lbs. My scale isn't that sensitive, so I'd take anywhere in between 149-150.

Please feel free to tell me if my calculations are wrong. They do it all of the time at the bank!:)

Well, let me ask you a question - something to think about a minute.

You say you want to lose 10% of your weight.

What is "weight" anyhow?

If you think about it, I'm sure you'll agree that your "weight" is your skin and everything inside the package.

Bones, fluids, organs, muscle, tissue, fat, etc.

So what on that list do you really want to lose?

The only thing really, is fat. That's the stuff you want to lose.

Not muscle - you need to preserve that to drive your metabolism that in turn burns fat as fuel.

So the question becomes, how do I lose 16.6 lbs of body fat?

Despite what some people selling detox drinks and the like might tell you, you can't flush fat out.

You have to exercise to use it as fuel and "burn" it off.

Along with a slight calorie reduced diet.
