hi.. i don't consider myself overweight, but i do consider myself a little big.. im 5ft7, and 176 lbs.

i've been jogging/walking for about 4months now, and of late, i realise that my weight has not been dropping, i was formerly 198lbs. i lost the 22lbs in about 2.5months, but after about 1.5 months, i realise that my weight has been stagnant at 176.. i did lose till 170lbs, but i just put it back on. i have no idea why!

i usually brisk walk for 30mins, jog for 30mins, then brisk walk 30mins.. i do this 5 times a week, monday-friday

for food wise, i hardly watch my diet.. i eat as per normal, but i don't snack on chips/chocolate.. usually just 3-4meals a day.. most of the time i eat till im pretty full, not full till the extent where i feel like puking.. just till my stomach feels full!

is smoking a problem? or maybe my sleeping pattern? i usually sleep at around 3am and wake up at 2pm..

the weird thing is.. i use a rough food calorie counter, and i find that the calories going out is more than the calories going in.. shouldn't i be losing weight? o.o

It might be that perhaps your body has gotton used to your intensity of excercise and you need to rev it up a little more for your body to feel challenged. If you have been doing the same thing for 3 months, then by now it would have gotton used to your workouts. Try jogging 45 mins and walking 15.

i've actually been increasing the jogging time slightly more, week by week.

i find that my heart rate is actually challenged when i jog, so i don't think its the speed.. you think its better for me to run faster, but for a shorter period?

No, I think it's better to run for longer periods rather than faster. From my understanding, when you run fast your body uses up your ATP energy instead of digging deep and burning fat, like when you sprint short distances. But if you steadily jog longer, your body will break down into your fat and start burning that, which is what you want.
