toning question

Can toning your muscles also increase your strength? Cause I read something about strengthening muscles and connective tissues, if you tone your muscles

Without reading the article, the short answer is yes. If you mean "tone" in the way the common person does, you mean building muscle and losing fat. By building muscle, you will probably increase strength. And various weight loss techniques may also increase strength, although I understand this to be ore likely in beginners than advanced trainees.

If, however, you mean the scientific meaning of muscle tone, which is about the neural activity in the muscle, then muscle tone is actually MORE about strength, and increasing muscle tone would indicate an increase in strength.

Yes, you can gain strength while toning, because "toning" means "losing body fat so you can see the existing muscle that was always there".

If you mean 'toning' as in 'doing 20 reps per set to burn fat'...then no, because that doesn't actually burn fat, and its too light a weight to build muscle, and too many reps to increase strength.

a good fat loss program should utilize HEAVY weights and low reps, like 5-8 per set (individuals vary) to emphasize strength and retaining muscle mass, not high rep ranges.
