Tone up & Stop eating!!

Hello everyone,

So here is my story. I'm 26 years old, I'm 5'6", and I have 3 kids (my youngest being 8 months old). 6 months ago I quit smoking. I weighed 160lbs when I quit smoking. I started working out 3 weeks ago when I jumped on the scale and weighed 170 lbs. Today I jumped on the scale again and I weigh 174lbs!! What the...???

So here is my problem, I don't eat all that healthy. Ever since I quit smoking I get really bad sugar cravings. My 3 meals a day are all quite healthy, but I snack real bad. I'll eat chips, chocolate covered granola bars, cheese, chocolate, etc... and I get really hungry every night around 10pm, and I mean REALLY hungry. I can't seem to surpress them. I drink water, it doesnt help. I will eat fruits and veggies and STILL be hungry for the sugary foods. I'm like a pregnant woman - when I get a craving NOTHING will satisfy until I get it. Doesnt matter how full I am, I will still eat my "craving" if I can.

I am been exercising for 3 weeks like I said, and I workout for about 40-60 mins, 4-5 times a week. I do a whole array of different routines, to the point where my body aches and I'm dripping sweat. But because of the damn sugar cravings I cant seem to lose the weight!! I've even been considering buying Phenphedrine to help me surpress my appetite... This is so frustrating. Does anyone have any tips that can help me kick the sugar cravings ... even quitting smoking wasn't THIS hard!!!

i am a stay at home mom with my 8 month old and my 2 year old. I want to drop from my current 174lbs to about 135-140lbs.

Buy this book...The Carbohydrate Addict's Diet: The Lifelong Solution to Yo-Yo Dieting (Signet) and you will gain important insight into your cravings. My wife had the same problem and this book made a big difference. You can find a used copy on Amazon for a few $'s.

Good luck!

I usually do not try to promote by products or business on here for a solution - but I use to have the same issue as you. I use to have all these cravings that would deplete me working out 1-2 times a day. It was crazy - it was a vicious circle - and very big disappointment looking at the scale.

Obviously, like I did, you see that you have a problem with your food choices. Thats awesome that you see and understand your issue. I am not sure if you have heard of it - Shakeology - this is what has killed the cravings for me. I did not take it to lose weight, I took it, and still do for the energy, craving killers, and just the way it makes me feel throughout each day. It is not just a meal replacement - it is so much more.

Other things to try out - Drink water! Try to aim to 8 cups a day - or 64 oz. Water does work wonders, that was key to my weight loss.

Keep excercising, but make sure you taking in enough GOOD calories while doing it - and make sure you are not over working your body as well.

I would love to stay in touch with you and hear about your goals, and progress!! I hope this info helps you a little bit. Congrats on stopping smoking! Sounds like you are ready to change your life up abit and get fit! Thats awesome -lets do it together:)

If you can not live without sugar or sweets, at least try something with a lower GI than sugar. Personally I use agave nectar. It's plenty sweet and has a much lower GI.

There are plenty of fruits that may fulfill your cravings as well. Pineapples, ripe plums, clementines, grapes are all very sweet and far better than sugar for you.

Oh, and a big congratulations on quitting smoking. I applaud you. Your life will be exponentially better, as will the lives of every one in your family.

Oh, and could you post your workout routines? We may be able to help there as well.
