First of all, I would like to express my happiness at finding this forum.
My name is Melissa and I've struggled with my weight all my life, most notably in my late teens early twenties.
I am both an emotional eater and a compulsive eater. At my lightest I weighed 160lbs (72kgs) and lead a fairly active lifestyle.
That was in my early teens. By the time I was 19, in my first year of university, I weighed 170lbs (77kgs) and felt good about my appearance. [I am 5'10]. I am now 21 and have tipped the scale at 225lbs (102kg). My BMI is 33 which puts me in the category of 'Obese'
I've made excuses and I've made promises to do something about it (Of course it was always "I'll start tomorrow")
Tomorrow has come today.
My goal weight is 160lbs (72kgs) which means I have 65lbs to lose.
I know it isn't going to happen overnight and there are a lot of changes I need to make in my lifestyle.
I've started counting calories and am aiming for a intake of 1600kcal a day.
I'm going to try to get a least 1 hour of physical activity in a day (a big change for me as I have been quite sedentary for a long while)
I've chosen Sundays for my weigh in day and started a Diet Diary.
That's quite enough about me for now
Looking forward to the future!
