Hi, and welcome.
I am a long-time visitor to this site and the people here motivated me on my weight loss journey. There were a lot of lessons to learn on the way. After a long and tough road, I have kept off 100 pounds for over a year now.
1) Permanent changes require permanent changes. There is no "dieting." That implies this is all temporary... your weight loss will be too. Eating well makes you feel good physically and mentally. Exercise is for everyone. You must transform yourself into a person with healthy habits.
2) Forming habits takes a while, but it gets easier. I decided one day to never eat fast food or drink sugary soda ever again. It was DAMN hard at first but now I don't even miss it. The smell makes me ill. After going a long time without sweet foods, I don't really like it anymore.
3) It will happen if you really want it. If you put in the effort to do the research, form new habits, and sweat those bullets, something will happen. Pounds may not drop at first but just being able to walk or jog farther than you ever could feels good. You'll have more energy.
4) Don't give in to diet fads/pills/whatever. It's a money sink and a lot of it simply isn't healthy. Weight loss takes a while. Give it time. Let your body adjust.
Most of all, good luck! If you have any nutrition/diet questions feel free.
