To my body, with love.

To my body:

I'm sorry for treating you badly for far too long. I'm sorry for failing to adequately nourish you. I'm sorry for never allowing you to dance, jump, run, swim, explore. I'm sorry for not loving you.

I want you to know that this is changing. I want you to know that I will feed you good, nourishing food, but nothing will be off limits. I will make wise choices, most of the time. I will take you on walks and I will ensure that I make you strong and fit and healthier than ever before.

Please know that I do love you. Unconditionally. You are gold to me. From now on, I promise to treat you as I would a tiny baby.

You are safe. You are loved.

From, me.

Hi Everyone. I'm Carrie. I'm not new to these forums, but it's been a long while since I've posted here.

I'm on a mission to be the best I can be and I've been doing fairly well. I've been shedding fat and getting fit and healthy. So far, I've dropped from 14st to 12st. The last time I weighed myself, I weighed 168lbs // 12st exactly. My BMI is approximately 25.9. The scales said that the range of my ideal weight is between 9st 12 and 11st 9. I hope to reach the weight of 11st 9 or 163lbs by the end of April.

I exercise fairly frequently. I'm hoping to lose fat and build muscle and increase my running stamina. I've recently completed my first half marathon, which feels like a great achievement. I think I'm the fittest, physically, that I've ever been, and that feels really amazing :)

So far today I've walked my dogs for an hour and a half.
Drank 1 cup of coffee.
Enjoyed a protein smoothie (Gold standard cookies & cream flavour, mixed with vanilla rice milk, ice and oats).

I'm about to head to the gym. I aim to do half an hour cardio and half an hour of strength training.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

My work out at the gym was excellent.
I walked to and from the gym, which takes about 20 minutes - half an hour.
I cycled for 10 minutes.
I ran for thirty minutes at varying speeds.
I did an ab work out and weights for arms.
I FEEL GOOD.

Food wise... I feel like I've consumed a lot, but I think I've just eaten what my body wanted.

So, as I said earlier, I already had a protein smoothie and coffee.
Then I had a Quest bar (my first ever). Weird tasting thing.
Then I had pasta and tomato sauce (left overs from dinner last night).
Then I had a homemade granola bar.

Calories are probably around about 1000-1200 now, so I should slow down to save room for dinner.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

A Quest bar?

Oh, and hi, by the way. I just thought I'd pop in and see what was going on. I like your letter to your body. I think the biggest thing is that you've realized (at some point in the past) that you haven't treated your body or yourself with kindness, but certainly seem to have started to make a difference.

Keep it up and good luck!!!

Not only doing but also looking great! Welcome (back) to the forum, I really like the attitude that speaks from your letter. Best of luck!

Hi Carrie! I want to say to my body why you said in your letter. I tend to treat my body like an inanimate object that I can use and dispose of when it's no longer useful instead of an object that I should love and cherish. I am impressed by the amount of exercise you do! I know you can reach your final goal.

Hi Carrie, welcome back & just look at you! You're looking great. I love your letter & we should all be treating ourselves that way. Most of us have had a love/hate relationship with our bodies & ourselves & it's time we changed that. It's hard to love others when you don't love yourself xo Cate

Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone. So, my first day back on the forums went well. I ended the day with a stirfry with lots and lots of veggies and a handful of Singapore noodles, some prawn crackers and a little dark chocolate.

I'm back from walking my dogs at the beach and from running a few errands and now I'm sitting with a banana in the sunshine. I drank a coffee from Starbucks this morning + an hour walk + a banana.

I suppose I should get myself to gym, but my mind is resisting a little at the moment.

Hope everyone is having a good day so far.

They are low carb, high protein bars. I'm trying to get more protein in my diet, for building muscle, but I'm not sure that these bars are particularly healthy. A lot of people online seem to rave about them.

Fat free cottage cheese is a good source of protein. Mix in some blueberries, strawberries, banana, or pineapple and it's pretty tasty too.

Work out:

5km in 29.12 minutes
Abs routine
Arm routine with 8kg weights.

Feeling good.

2 days until I can step on the scale. I hope I get a loss this week.

Thanks, Jen.

Day.. 3 is it? I think so.
I'm taking a day off from the gym today. I might run later if I feel like it, but it's good to have a rest day every now and then. I took my dogs to the beach, so that was an hour plus of walking.

This morning I had a protein smoothie made from almond milk, ice, 1 banana and a scoop of protein powder.

I think I'm going to read a little of my book and snuggle with my snoozy pup on the sofa. The other one is off in her bedroom (ie: my bedroom).

:D Looks like there´s a bit of desert fox in there somewhere. They must love you extra-much for getting to go to the beach!

Could it be his HUGE ears? Hehe :) Desert foxes are so cute. I've never seen them before. I hope he does have that in him somewhere. That's cooool. I just thought he was Chihuahua-Jack Russell but D.F is much more exotic.

Rest of the day is going well.

So far:

Protein smoothie (as mentioned above)
1 chicken breast, tortilla, lettuce, mayo
2 squares of dark chocolate :)Angel_anim:)
