Hey everyone! I'm going on vacation in a couple of weeks and I don't want that to interfere with my weight loss/dieting. Do any of you have any tips to help with sticking to my diet on vaction and particularly with eating out? Thank you in advance for any advice!:)

Pay attention to what's on the menu... read the descriptions and ask how things are prepared...

No reason to eat boring but just eat as you would at home, ig you're somewhere exotic - try local delicacies just don't go overboard and try to get a lot of walking in as you go exploring...

Vacation is definitely one of the hardest times to stay on track. What I usually do is work out twice as hard about 2 or 3 weeks before I go (and don't cheat!). When I'm on vacation, I try to go running, swimming, or any kind of exercise with any free time I have. The exercise should be very light and easy. Also, when eating snacks, try to stick to light things like yogurt and fruit. If you're like me, I love to pig out when I eat out, so I just take it easy when I'm at my house.

It is very difficult to stay on track, but vacation is a good time to cheat. Just have some icecream or cake or something to reward yourself for all the hard work you've done. Just don't overdo it.

Good luck!

Usually one of the safer things on restaurant menus is the salads. The "hidden" calories are usually in the dressing (and sometimes cheese if the salad has cheese on it). Get the dressing on the side (ask for low fat if they have it), and just dip your fork in it as you eat.

I eat lots of fish when I'm on vacation. I order the grilled fish and douse it in lemon (no toppings) wherever I am, and choose sensible sides! Also drink TONS of water at every meal and you'll feel full, and you'll probably be walking around tons so it's just a good idea to stay super hydrated. My fam loves to order appetizers, salads, entrees, dessert...so if I participate in any of that, I make sure to only "try" a bite of stuff, but in general I find it's better to just stick to my entree. Do not fill up on the bread either! I used to LOVE bread at restaurants but now I just see it as a meal-ruiner, and calorie-taker-upper. No toppings, no bread, lots of water, but make sure you get a couple bites of dessert, because you're on vacation!
