Tim's Goal to look like a Marine again!

Well reckon I'll start one of these doo-hickeys. LOL Well in my introduction post, I explained a bit about me. Trying to get in shape for a job, and make my self feel a lot better about myself. 7 years ago I got off active duty in the Marine Corps, I weighed about 165 or 170 and had about 8 or 10 %. I miss that guy!! That's where I would like to get back to, at least close to it. I don't want people to take double takes at my big beer belly pushing out the Marine tshirt!

So it Begins.......

This morning I got up an hour early and went for a good steady paced walk for 30 mins. (I was a grunt I can still hump a ruck....maybe I should pick one up!) Got home and made my normal breakfast, 4 slices of thin rye toast. (My diet need improvement but it's not terrible).

Went to work, yippee. Crazy end of the year paperwork and the boss stressing me out.

After work straight to the gym. I did about 30 mins or so of chest and shoulders. Not putting up any remarkable weight, or have any type of plan but it got rid of the stress! Then 4 reps of 25 on the ab crunch machine with 65 pounds of weight! That felt great! (in a ouch kinda way lol!) After that 45 mins on a sit down bike, random level 11 watching of all things Heartbreak Ridge!!! (How motivating but that movie still frustrates me with the errors! LOL)

Then home and an easy meal of chicken and rice.

So far I feel I made some progress tomorrow a repeat of the same, except at the gym I'm meeting with a guy who is going to help me make sense of my work out!

Yay!

(BTW I have an old picture from HS on my Myspace to help motivate me, and my mom is sending me my bootcamp graduation picture to put on my desk! I know I won't get that little again, I joined the Marine Corps at 118 pounds, but it will help!)

Semper Fi!

Welcome to your journal... and much success on getting to your destination :D

118lbs? naw you don't want to be a skinny teenager again... :D

Do spend some time checking out the stickied threads in the exericse forum - it might give o some ideas on how to make your workouts more effective... and do ask questions... there's always someone willing to help :D

Well the start of today is good even if the weather is all grey and nasty. Today I finished the same walk I did yesterday in about 5 mins less! I'm happy about that. Then weighed in at 183! I small drop but a start! Let the momentum roll!!

Mal, Thanks I have been tearing this forum up reading and taking notes lol!
