Time to Heal

I got a little out of control with my workouts last summer and refused to give my body a chance to rest thinking i was still 20 years old.

Boy did i learn my lesson...I now have high Blood Pressure and just got over walking pneumonia and found myself with all kind of vitamin deficiency.

So, please take time to rest and eat healthy or all your so called hard work will go down the toilet.

Do you really think the HBP came from working out too much? I guess I've never heard of that. How has your stress level been for the past several months? Are you looking at ways to help manage your stress.

What are you doing differently now to help yourself heal? Is it working?

I feel for you, and hope you are successful in getting better.:)

Well, I would start the day out with 42 push ups, 65 sit ups and run two miles for a warm up. Then I would do a chest workout, arm workout, shoulder workout....then hit my pull up bar until i had 50 reps. Then I would hit the dip bar. Then go to work....after work ride my bike for 13 miles, come home and do more curls or pull ups or whatever exercise got in my way.

This routine went on for seven days a week...almost like an addiction. My ex-wife told me that i looked terrible and being 37 years old it really hurt me. My quest was to look like i did when i was 20 and in the Military.

I dropped 20 pounds and felt like i was on top of the world....but that world has crashed for now. I'm slowly getting back into my routine safely.

Lack of a good diet and over loading can increase your blood pressure on top of stress. Good luck to everyone in reaching your goals but be safe!
