Time to get in shape.

I am 5'10 235lbs male. My goal weight is 175. I started dieting about 1.5 months ago but then ran into pnemonia and was pretty much just in bed most of that period. Now that I am better I back on track. I am thinking of 45 minutes of cardio first thing in the morning, and 45min to 1hr of weight training in the evening. Is there a benefit to splitting it up? Will my body burn more calories from splitting it up into two sessions instead of one?


As for eat, I am going to try to eat something every 3hrs. Today I started off with two egg whites, then an apple, and for lunch Light Wheat bread with tuna (low fat mayo). When i get home from work i was going to have Chicken caesar salad, and in the last thing will be mini carrots iwth fat free ranch dressing.

Does this sound like i have the right idea? Starting in Janurary i am taking off work for 6 weeks to play poker full time and taht will leave tons of time for the gym, and plenty of time to cook and eat healthy. Thanks.
 
You can do the 45 min of cardio in the morning, but I would say maybe run another 30 minutes before or after you workout.
