Time to Face Reality

loseweight>50

Losing weight was relatively easy in my 20's but has been increasing in difficulty as the years pass. I knew I was slowly gaining a few pounds each year but didn't have time or desire to focus on it.

Last physical my doctor told me I had to start reversing the trend which would also reduce my cholesterol levels or I might have to go on medication. (She knew my aversion to medication.)

My goal is to lose 20 in the next 6 months. Not a particularly aggressive goal but a reasonable one. I wanted to see what was working for others and to have some accountability.

Hi and welcome to the forum. 20lbs is a good goal and very do-able. Counting calories along with the type of foods you eat can help bring down your cholesterol. Use olive oils and good fats as well. Look around the forums and read many of the stickies. They contain a lot of information on calorie counting and nutrition.
Best to you, Lynn
