Well..Christmas 2006.. Yes i stuffed myself silly. Everyday as long as i can remember i say to myself "Today is the day!!!" but then i eat icecream at 11pm or drive to the corner store instead of walking. Christmas morning.. with my family enjoying all that Santa has brought.. My brother has this electronic scale that calculates weight, hydration levels, fat percentage etc.. I grab it to see where i am..nervous but curious. I program my age and sex..Step on it watch the numbers climb...it climbs to 308lbs then starts flashing "OL" i step off..could i be that heavy that this thing is overloaded? I shake my head and try again.. with the same result..My heart sinks as i read the instructions for this thing.. yup..max capacity is 300lbs. Im too heavy for this scale.
I need support so here i am..2007 is a new year for me..Im bringing MY sexy back.:eek:

You made the first step and that's a bonus for anyone Congrats! Just tomorrow lets start like its Jan 1st. Why do we tend to put ourselves through the Jan1st drama. If you are for real about this you will start now come on you can do it. I am here with you to trying to lose wt. too. I had to shop around but I finally found a 300 + scale that I could use and its great you can find one too good luck.:)

I feel your pain!

We bought a scale similar to the one you described. My weight wasn't a shocker but the fact that I am more than half fat did!!

Don't wait until Jan 1. . .every day you weight is another day you are adding weight, another day you could be taking it off.

First thing first, you need a plan of attack!! Be prepared!!

Some suggested steps. . .

Find out what your calorie intake should be. I found these on this site.



Set an exercise goal
Start small and slowly increase

Some other things I found helpful.

Check out your favorite fast food places online. They have nutritional information and it is shocking! Plus you can get a feel for what is good enough for you to order when you happen to go there again.

Post a journal on this forum and allow other people to encourage you!

I was planning on starting my weightloss in the newyear but i decided No and began sttraight away.
I am so glad I did I am feeling so much better for it where as normally i would be over eating and drinking just because it is the silly season.
We are all here for support - when i hear the junk food voices in my head i turn to this forum, like tonight their is chocolate everywhere in our house at the moment and I opened the box looked and smelt then raced to the computer to read the forums. I havee been drinking my water the whole time and now i am over it. Mind over matter.
So take care and remember little steps and goals.
