Tigny's Diary

This is my first day getting support for this kind of thing..I normally like to try things on my own and not rely on anyone else but this has proven harder then at first expected. I am 5'3 and a whopping 186.5 pounds, I wear a size 10 jean.
In all honest, I just want to be normal, my boyfriend kept telling me that once you get out of highschool that girls have 'real' bodies, not the skinny things I was in constant contact with...that proved wrong. So, now here I am, working for the tiny body that I've lacked all my life ( when I was in elementary I had a budha belly but I lost that in middle school.)
My goal is to get down to 140 and I"m really hopoing I can do it.

You will be able to do it with the right foods and exercise , I try to stay around 1200 calories and exercise when I can get it in , Thats my biggest problem besides my water intake which is really important to weight lose I am told so what program are you working on to lose your weight with , And I believe you will be glad that you joined up here there are so many that will help you here.

Tigny - Today is my 2nd day here. I like what I see. The support system here is what I have been looking for weeks. I look forward to getting to know you.

*smiles* thank you both
the program? nothing really, sticking towards non-carb-y fruits and veggies, reducing how much I eat and I made miz CDs of what I think the be the best songs to dance to ( I have 3 with about an hour of music on each one ) and I dance like I'm in a club at least once a day :D and then in the mornings - for all of you that have fit tv they have these "All Star Workouts" Different ones everyday - first of the day comes at 9 - and I Tivo'd all the dance ones ( so far I ahve Dance Groove which is hip hop, Dance Party also hip-hop Bhangra - Indian Dancing and Afro Latin Dance. So far my favorite is the Indian, surprisingly small movements and controlled and I don't even feel tired but I sweat more with it so you can tell you're working hard)

Now to Add to my Diary -
My 3rd day taking this thing seriously and not even a half pound gone, but that's ok, it's probably having to eat the family that I babysit for dinner with Morganne.
I'm doing pretty good with eating besides that, I reach for celery, apples, bananas, and if I need something bread like a slice of whole grain and then cut dinner down to one serving.
As far as excercise, I doing great with that. If I'm watching tv I lay on the floor and do Ab excercises and arm work ( I'll be honest with ya'lls, my arms are huge, part muscle part flab, lol, almost man-like and they're what I'm most hoping to lose ) And then in the mornings I wake up at 4:30, do the Dance Workouts on my Tivo and try to dance whenever I can work it in. When I start to lose weight by cardio I'll add going down to the weight bench.

Ok, I take back the no weight loss, my scalle was being weird, I just went to it and got on it like 3 times and it said 182!

lol, well today for lunch I concocted something that was surprisingly good, simple, and so d*mn filling...I feel like I'm going to burst and all it was was a wheat tortilla, celery, mushrooms, and salsa. I tells you, instead of ranch or veggie dip I'm switching to salsa! It never ever sounded good before ( I mean, comon, celery and salsa? ) but it's delicious.
for breakfast I had an apple and tea...
To be honest? I hope that wrap deelie didn't set me back at all, I didn't really pay attention to calories.

Today I'm going bowlin round....3:30 with maybe some cousins. Now, I'm sure other alleys do this, but ours sells the greasiest and tastiest foods and drinks right there so you're sitting and smelling it. I really hope that I can resist temptation to get anything but water.

Hey! and I can count for weight training if I bicep curl the ball before I roll ;)

Sounds like you are doing really good! I have no idea how you can get up at 430am but go you!:p My hubby gets up at that time to go to work. It's really awesome that you wear a size 10! I am 5'4'' and at 141 and wear between a size 11 and a 9, depending on who makes the jeans. Sounds like you are doing good keep up the great work!:)

well, my family's full of the 'muscle-bound' I hate it though, sometimes I feel like I have the physique of a man! My calves have 3 muscle bumps and that's before I did anything! I'm kind of hoping to mainly just do cardio and 'burn off' SOME of the muscle by not eating all the protein I really should.
So though I may carry the weight pretty well, I look like a breasted man doing it, lol:D

I resisted temptation! while me and my family were bowling they went to Mickey D's before hand to get my baby bro fries and we ended up eating there. I got the salad with GRILLED chicken ( normally I can't resist the crispy ) and a bottle of water. I didn't steal anyone's fries and when Max got chips at the alley, I was able to stop myself from eating his left overs!
I'm pretty proud of myself, I don't know what a Mickey D's salad count is but I had light Italian and that was only 50, a lot but I had heard worse...

Rock it, this morning I got on the scale and it said 180 even after I had the Mickey D's salad and the chicken with Hot Sauce!
Which, hot sauce kind of compensates for its self sense it speeds up your metabolism...so, as well as keeping you cool ( Ironic but true ) it helps in the weightloss process. I forgot where I heard that but it seems to work, I have more energy and things. I've even taken to putting hot sauce on soup...which is really good...:D

Too funny about the hot sauce! I've heard some of that info before, but now you've got me considering drinking it straight from the bottle!
Kudos to you for going to McD's and not stealing fries or falling to the temptation of crispy chicken!

Hi tigny!

Sounds to me like you are right on with your food and exercise! I like the Mcdonalds salads for a treat too. I just count it as about 350 cals max with the lite dressing. Id think thats about right. I like mine with a little tiny bit of bleu cheese, and use the 40 cal vinagrette dressing. Most of those cals are coming from the chicken and cheese, and if you take off the cheese its probably less, because one full chicken breast is only 200-250 cals, and I dont think those are a full breast.

Glad to have ya!

Hey! Just stopping by to check on. Would have sooner but kind of had a lot going on. Good job on getting the salad and grilled chicken at McD's! I don't even really like eating there, but it is still hard to resist the smell of those burgers. (Even if I am mad about it afterwards because of the stomach ache!) You are doing great! :D

Thank you very much you guys, but I have a confession. On Sunday it was "Coffee Hour" at much church and Barbara made homade Polish dooughnuts, I sadly could not resist that 1/4 of my heritage and had a couple. But I tried to make it up by not having any Rigatoni at lunch and instead opting for homade chicken noodle and for dinner split pea soup, bothwith hot sauce on them. o_O
I will not do that again though because in all honesty, I felt like crap afterwards. Lol, emotionally and physically.
Oh, and yesterday I measured myself:
Calves: 17 inches
Ankles: 10 inches
Thighs: 24 inches
Hips: 42 inches
Waist: 34 inches
Chest: 42 inches
Upperarms: 13 inches

Doing Good With Your Food And Excercise Welcome To The Forum! Sorry I Been Missing In Action! You Can And Will Do This!

I think I read somewhere that homemade Polish dounts that are consumed at church are virtually calorie free. The ones that you have to watch out for are the ones you scarf right from the box and gobble in a flash of gluttony!
LOL!
Where those the traditional Packsi donuts? (I'm not sure how to spell it because we always pronounced it Poon-shki.) You can't start Lent without eating one of those!
Totallyscrappy

lol, Lent's hit me pretty fast this year...I didn't know it was even close til I heard people talking about the Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans...and sadly, ( sort of gross warning depending on the person) I got my period today and thus let the chocolate cravings commence...
I already had some M&Ms and kisses...I hope one day doesn't ruin me...

Good Morning Tigny,
I don't believe one day will effect your progress. Just don't over do it. And drink lots of water. Well have a great day and stay postive.

Well You Are Still Doing Good Girl Because You Realise The Things You Are Doing And What Feels Right And What Doesnt So You On Your Way Down The Right Path! Looking Good!
