Ok i just post this to share some unusual info i discovered that you all might already know but i just found out and its interesting to me.
Deltoids are called so b/c the are a triangular shape and resemble the greek letter Delta thus arriving at the name Deltoid.
The origin of the name calfs comes from the Viking word kalfi which is related to the Gaelic word calpa. Take the root back to its original definition, in which it means swelling of the body, which, to ancient people, is what a calf looked like. The most curious part of the saga is that the word calf isn't even the correct ataomical term for the primary muscle in the lower leg. Its actually called a "Gastrocnemius", which comes from the Greek word and Latin word gastro, for the calfs belly like shape, and kneme, meaning leg. And so was a war of words between the Vikings who thought the calf looked like a swelling of the body and the Greeks who thought it looked like a beer gut. Seems the ancient vikings lost just as many battle as the ones that currently reside in the NFC East.
