This is what I'm trying to fix...

For anyone reading my posts and wondering what I'm whining about, here's a picture of what Depo Provera did to me. It made me gain the fat in weird places where it wasn't before. Mostly by back/oblique area (haaate that line - why can't it be just one area of fat instead of two colliding ones?) and right on my tummy (granted this is a picture a little after lunch so I may be slightly bloated *shrug*), but also the usual thighs and butt (girl power! haha). There's muscle under it, if I can just get rid of it. But here's what I'm working with right now. I'm not huge but I could be so much better obviously. For the record I am 5'11", 168lbs, 21 years old, pants size 12. Before Depo I weighed 145lbs and wore a size 8.

EDIT: And yes, I stopped taking Depo Provera about a month ago. My fiance is in the military and away for several months, so no need for BC until then. Time to detox from this one, try to lose the weight, and hopefully find a better brand eventually.

Hi Panda :biggrinsanta:

Welcome to the site btw.

I would stop using that stuff if you haven't already. It's quite obvious that it's not worth it, unless I'm mistaken but this is an injected contraceptive am I right?

edit: I read your posts, you came off it, woot! Anyhow, you are in the right place to get help to solve this problem.

Good luck.

Eric

Red Pandas are, in fact, natures cutest animals... it's too bad they are so nasty.

Anywho, welcome. If you feel a drug is causing you to not reach your goals, perhaps stop taking that drug... but in reality, if you stop taking that drug, you MAY gain a little MORE weight that you didnt want, if you know what I mean ;)

Hey Red Panda, I know how you feel. I changed pills a few months ago and gained 6 kgs. I have always been 50kgs 163cm tall but now I am 56.2kg and 164cm (yes I did grow 1 cm YAY) but yes I put on alot of weight and the fat seemed to go to my stomach and legs. I feel awful as you do.

What are you doing for fitness? And what are you eating?

Well, you can follow my journal for more details, but mostly I'm doing a mix of cardio and resistance work outs; a lot of walking, using a Bosu balance trainer, gym machines, crunches, and some running. For food, a lot of veggies, drinking nothing but water, chicken, tuna, rice, eggs, smoothies; very basic foods in reasonable amounts. I'm having results finally, after months of endless weight gain I lost 5 pounds since buckling down on myself!
