Hi everybody, This is my story.

Me 35. My starting weight was 231lbs. CW: 197lbs GW: 170lbs 27 more to go.
I am 5' 9.

I have been married for 12 years in August to the love of my life. We have 4 great kids Iden. twin boys 10, Tyler and Austin, Brady 5, Jenna 3. I have battled being over weight my entire life. Up and Down for years. I finally realized how my weight was controling my life. I was tired of blaming it on have kids, and never enough time. I am too yuong not to be able to climb of stairs without getting winded or chase my son and daughter without having to stop. I would just have to find time. So I did. I work out at the gym 3-5 days a week, which I absolutely love doing. I haven't felt this good in years. I started at an 18-20.
I am currently in a 14. Goal size is a 10-12. I HAVE NEVER WORN A 10, or maybe when I was 12. Everything has been going great with the sucess........until....

I am in a funk, and need help. The drive to want the last 27 lbs is weakening. I want it so bad!!!! I am looking for support. I had it for awhile from some of my friends, they have stopped and I do not want to give up. I feel very alone.I know i have it in me to keep going, I need to find it again.....

Am I in the right place? Can any of you help me.

Some of the problems I have : Lack of nutritional knowledge. Do's and don'ts
VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! EVERYONE has a diff.
opinoin!!!
What should I be doing at the gym?
Currently 3-5 day- 30 minute elliptical. level4
2-4 days some weight training. (Lack of

*waves hello*

Hello and welcome to the forum!!

Congrats on your weight-loss so far...I totally understand the lack of motivation to lose the last little bit but yet still wanting it really really badly. So far I've lost 42.5 pounds and I feel like my goal weight of 130 is still so far away...but ya know, just keep plugging along and the weight will be gone before you know it.

If you feel like you've reached a plateau (which I am the official queen of in this forum--3 darn months!) try shaking things up a bit. Last week I ate anything and everything I wanted (yummy) and this week I went back to my no crappy food diet and lost 4 pounds. (something that hasn't happened in 3 months) Anyway....keep up the good work and keep posting in all the threads, this place is a wonderful place for support and friendship.

Sorry I missed the hello.

Welcome to the team, I think what you will find here will be boh rewarding and educational. We want to see you lose those last 27lbs!!!

Also, welcome to "Onederland"!!!!

My two cents...

Welcome! I'm new here too!

You have done a FABULOUS job- an inspiration to me, so thank you!
As for my opinion on your workout (and please bear with me if you already know any of this info!):

As far as your workout routine goes: are you able to have a one hour consultation with a personal trainer? They may be able to help you come up with a workout plan targeting toward meeting your goal. They will definitely be able to help with proper technique using weights or weight machines. Don't forego this part of your workout, as it builds lean muscle for strength to keep up with the kiddos and raises your metabolism so you are burning more calories at rest. I have found it to be a key part of my weight loss so far; I really noticed a steadier rate of loss when I added the weights (I use the machines by the way). Incorporating weights is something you do no more than every other day. When you use weights, you are actually tearing muscle tissue, and the rebuilding of that tissue expends energy, which is why you burn more calories while at rest than if you didn't use them. This tearing and rebuilding, however, also demands that you give your body time to rebuild the tissue, thus, a day of rest between weight training sessions is neccessary.

How long have you been doing the workout you outline in your post? I ask because as you lose weight and become more fit, your body needs to work harder and/or longer to continue to lose pounds. What you were doing at 231 pounds is not enough at 197 pounds. As you lose, you need to step up your workout a little more. I recommend alternating your cardio by using the elliptical OR the treadmill on any cardio day. You will be working different muscles and consequently getting a different type of workout. I can't tell you what program or level to use because that will depend on your heart rate while using the machine....but you should increase your workout time to at least 35 minutes, and then 40 after a week or two. You are getting fit, and need to adjust as the workout starts to become less challenging for your new body!

I hope this helps you...best of luck and glad you're "on board"! :D
