Hello everyone. I've never seriously attempted to lose a significant amount of weight before, but it is time to start. I'm at my highest weight ever and I think it's all came on me because of depression and anxiety. Don't get me wrong I've tried to lose weight before but never the amount that I'm going to attempt now which is around 70lbs. I've been watching the forum for quite a while now and it's very motivational. I'm a 25 year old female. 5 ft 6in. 211 lbs. I feel run down and out of shape and I know that looking better and being healthier will boost my now low self esteem. I need all the support I can get and in return you will find I'm also a great supporter and listener. I'm excited to start this journey and make friends a long the way. If anyone wants a support buddy or you are kinda in my situation just let me know. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks

See you around!

Hi Alla, good luck to you in losing the weight, I'm currently trying to lose 42 pound after carrying it for far to long

Welcome to the forum!

Start with light exercises, join the walking club, and eat healthy meals and your energy level should come up.

Good Luck to you!!

Hi,

How are you? I know how you feel. i've been carrying a load of weight pretty much all my life. I have about 80-100lbs to lose and I'm 5ft 6" as well.

How are you planning on doing this? Do you have a plan in place? I too am excited about it. I find this place really great. Everyone's so welcoming and supportive, it's great to be in a place where everyone experiences the same feelings, same goals and same setbacks. I am positive we can both do this. Good luck x

Hi!

My main plan is to watch portion sizes and count calories. I wont eat over 1600 a day to start out. I'm drinking just water or crystal light, occasionally milk because I love it, just not tons of it. I'm cutting out fried foods for a while also, which I'll slowly introduce back into my diet when I feel I can eat them in moderation.

As far as exercise, I'm going to start off small, doing 30 minutes of walking/jogging 5 days a week and I'll up my time as I get stronger.

I think diet and exercise takes a lot of self control but anyone can do it if they really want and they really really try. It's so easy to get discouraged or have a bad day then feel like you have to throw it all away, but everyone will do something wrong here and there. We just have to get back in the game. Don't give up so easily.
