The trials, tribulations and mis-adventures of my weight loss journey!

Ohhh lordy, where to start? 3 years ago, I was wearing a size 9. After being in a relationship for the past 3+ years and being very comfortable, about 30 pound crept up on me. I'm now in a size 13 and recently started having trouble getting them on. So, long story short... I want to be able to grab anything out of my box marked "Size 9" and fit into them again!

After 3 weeks of being careful about food intake and exercise, just to lost 2 pounds, I'm ticked. Obviously I need to kick it into a higher gear.

You're doing the right thing with watching what you are eating and getting exercise in. All bodies are different, and you can't expect to drop 5 or 10 pounds right off the bat. What are you doing as far as food and exercise?

Dont knock the 2lbs - it's 2 less to worry abt right??!! I know how you feel but some weeksa re slower than others. So long as ur losing its all good news!

Try working out exactly how many cals u need every day. Try googling the Harris Benedict formula cos this works it out down to the last calorie. It will give u a BMR which is ur maintenance cals (to keep ur weight the same). You then take away 500 and thats the cals u should be eating to lose 1-2lbs per week. This was the best thing i ever did and it made dieting so much easier :biggrinjester:

Good luck on your journey :seeya:

Today was... interesting! There was an executive meeting in my building today that had a huge catered lunch and since they ordered too much food, they were telling people to come get some. Well, it was thai food that looked and smelled sooo good. BUT... so not good for me. I passed and ate my plain chicken breast with half an avocado and some grape tomatoes.

Tonight, my boyfriend and I went for our nightly brisk walk. I extended our route though, hoping to get in a bit more exercise. And in a few, I'm going to do my 45 minutes of Wii Fit.

Hopefully all this gets easier as I go along1

If you want help with your diet, just let us know. Theres a lot of people on here with a LOT of knowledge in that area. Although it sounds like with your lunch, you know what to do. Keep at it, we're rooting for ya!

Yeah, I have the food thing down pretty good. I stay away from sugar, too many carbs and anything high fat/high calorie. I eat tons of fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats (no red meat though, makes me gag) and non-fat milk.

It's really hard, especially when it's going out to dinner with friends or going to dinner parties/bbq's. I end up having to eat at home or bring my own food... then I get weird looks.

I'm sore, cranky and just want some Starbucks.

I swear I'm going to punch the next person that looks at me wrong. I gave up my triple-shot grande iced caramel lattes and oh lordy. It's NOT good. 2 a day for 4 years. My head is pounding and Excedrin just doesn't cut it.

Not only did I make it through the weekend without being too bad (I had some hurricanes Saturday night at dinner) but when I stepped on the scale this morning, I'd lost 3 more pounds!!!

The big test will be the 4-day weekend for the 4th!

16lbs and 1 whole size down! It's been pretty discouraging doing this for almost 3 months and only going down 1 size, but I've noticed that as of late it's been coming off faster. I've upped my workouts due to the fact that what I was doing got easy, so I've just gotta pay attention to that and increase time/difficulty when I notice it's too easy.

As far as eating goes, I have cottage cheese, some granola and a piece of fruit for breakfast; chicken breast or a can of tuna and an Odwalla Superfood for lunch; dinner consists of a protien and veggie with a 1/2c of brown rice or 1/3c or whole wheat pasta. I don't drink soda or juice anymore. Just fat free milk or water. It's pretty bland, but I'm looking at the payoff result :)

Ohhhhh yesterday was a very trying day. Work was crazy, I was tired and cranky... everytime I passed by the espresso stand in my building's atrium the maple bars and sprinkle donuts would call my name and believe me- I wanted nothing more than to get one and shove it in my face! Luckily I had the self control not to do so lol... So I got a coffee with nonfat milk instead.

Today is a MUCH happier day. Much much better. Days like yesterday really try my patience!

I've always loved going to my family get-together... until now. We had a party/BBQ for my mom and uncle's 50th today, and all the women on my mother's side of the family grew up in the kitchen. Holidays and family functions are a huge deal food wise- everyone makes stuff to bring and let me tell you- almost none of it is very healthy, or at least healthy enough for my diet. I bought a small cottage cheese, an apple and a packet of tuna on the way. My family was giving me weird looks and asking me why I was eating such bland food when I was at a bbq. My mom told me I could have at least had some of the cake my aunt made, but I was good and turned it down. It was 4 layers of white chocolate, raspberry, whipped cream frosting goodness... but I said no and ate my stupid apple lol.

Today made me DREAD the upcomming holiday season... I am going to just lock myself in my house and tell my family I'll mail them their presents!

For the hell of it, I picked up one of those little 'Eating Right' entrees in the frozen section at Safeway and had it for my lunch today.

*YUM-O*

I got a mexican-style entree, and it was 310cals and 34g protien. VERY low-fat, too! If you haven't tried them, do it! They have a large selection of flavors.

I weighed myself today, but didn't lose anything this week. Boo! However, my work pants are feeling a wee bit looser, and I've been able to comfortably raise my workout time by 10min!

It was a pretty good week. Not looking gorward to this weekend though... We have a BBQ to go to tomorrow afternoon, then we're going to the Seahawks game on Sunday. We ALWAYS tailgate before every game, but this year will be different for me. No chips and dip, no alcohol.

Way to take the fun out of tailgating. I'll bring water and dried fruit for me.

I made it through the bar, tailgating and the game without doing TOO bad. I had a rum and diet coke and a shot of tequilla at the bar, and I got a big ol' bag of peanuts in the shell and ate those throughout the game.

Good weekend. I lost 2 more pounds!

I've found love in Odwalla Super Protien drinks. The chocolate one is delish! I had one instead of lunch yesterday and it kept me full until dinner time.

I am half tempted to write the Odwalla company and tell them how much I love them!

28lbs and almost 2 whole dress sizes down... Still working on it!!!!

I'm starting to get anxious now that I seem to be getting smaller every day!

Uhh... for photo updates, peep my photo journal!!! :)
