Last night I discovered that it would cost $371.70 to take a round trip to Miami via Greyhound. I then discovered it would cost about $403 to fly to Miami. I decided if I ever went, I would be taking the bus because I'm too afraid to of flying because of "terrorists" or plane crashes. That's when it hit me like a tonne of bricks; why am I afraid of flying as I continue to overeat every day and live an unhealthy lifestyle?
So here I go on my weight loss journey, again. I've been here, done this, lost weight, gained it back. It's not that I was using extreme diets to lose weight, or unreasonable exercise routines, it's simply that I did not WANT to watch what I was eating.
So I find myself at a very massive 283 lbs, on a 5'4" frame at 21 years old. My goal is to get down to 200 lbs by next February meaning I have to lose 1.6 lbs a week. Because I'm not incredibly active, I plan to start my weight loss eating between 2000-2100 calories a day and see where that takes me. Depending on the formula used, with my current activity level my maintenance is somewhere between 2500-2800 calories, so I'll give it a try. I'm aware that my current caloric deficit doesn't match up with my goal, but I'm just trying to feel things out for the next couple of weeks to get to know my body. I'll ultimately start to add routine activity to my life (I don't struggle with activity, I'm just stuck in the house until next week some time).
So here I am.
I hope when I read this next year I'll find myself feeling silly.
Don't feel like taking measurements right now.
I have all of the tools I need (and have had them for quite some time), including fitday and a food scale, so I'm ready to go.
