Have you identified them while you're on your weight loss journey? I went to a weight loss clinic for a few months and learned how to eat and changed my lifestyle. While I found so many positive things that helped me lose and keep off 65 pounds, they also had me sit down and think about who in my life I think would be sabatoging my efforts to get healthy. I found that a ketogenic diet really works for me especially with my recent diagnosis of being pre-diabetic. Along the way I had unwavering support from those closest to me, my mom and husband. But one of my good friends was an educated but non-working nutritionist and was adamant about pushing high carb everything every time we met. Her story was that she grew up in China without proper nutrition and now wasn't going to have anything less than what she viewed as perfect nutrition. Her daughter at 3 years old is very chubby and she uses an iPad to distract her while feeding in order to get more into her. I ended up dropping her as a friend as I couldn't take her constant pressure and feel strongly that what she was doing to her child was barely short of child abuse.
I found my clinic's suggestion to keep my eyes open to my new sabateurs extremely helpful. That colleague at work who makes the comment that you're getting so thin they won't be able to see you soon and to please have a home baked muffin. Are there people in your life that try to sabatogue your efforts? What did they do and how do you handle it?
