The Road to 130

Today, I worked out for 30 minutes with Beachbody's Turbo Jam. I did the Learn & Burn segment. I like this workout because it is a combination of dance, cardio, and kickboxing. I am currently 169.5lbs, and I am trying to reach 125-130lbs by May or June. I hope I can make it and stick with it this time. I've been having too many bumps in the road that were hindering my efforts. But, those bumps have given way, and I am concentrating more on this.

Hey blueiris, welcome to the forum! That's great that you've found a workout that you enjoy. How often are you planning on working out each week?

Hi PLBFitness, I actually slipped this week. I did workout last Monday, but unfortunately, I did not keep up with the workout or watching what I was eating this past week. I always am so tired after I come back from work that all I want to do is lie down and not do anything. I know that's not the right way to go because I'm making it worst by not working out or watching what I eat. If I workout and watch what I eat, then, my energy will be up when I work. I just need to strengthen my willpower to exercise and to diet properly. I didn't do so well this weekend either. *Sighs* I keep on doing this. I am going to workout tonight. And, I plan to stick to the first segment this first week and watch what I eat. I am also going to start replacing some meals with healthy shakes. I need to stay strong.

I did better today. I have started drinking a protein shake for breakfast before work, and I just finished working out to the 1st segment of Turbo Jam. I am thinking about doing the first segment, Learn & Burn, for this week. By this weekend, my goal is to begin the 20-minute workout and Ab Jam. Oh, I hope I don't slip. Any encouragement is welcome :)

My weight today is 169.5 at 9:24pm Central Time.

Hey, sorry about the late reply! How did it go with the 20 minute workout and Ab Jam?

Hi Blueiris,

I just read this thread and thought I would add my humble opinion. I hope it helps.

There are 13 weeks until June 1st. You said you wanted to lose another 40lbs until then.

I know you can do it (encouragement)!!

Here is what I have learned....

Losing fat is 80% what you eat, 10% genetics and 10% exercise. So, you must focus on what and when you eat.

I know this because 4 yrs. ago, I wanted to lose 25lbs. and exercised everyday for 1 yr and only lost 10lbs. I could not lose the remaining 15lbs. no matter how many hours I stayed on the treadmill.

My weight loss only came and remained when I changed my relationship with food.

I eliminated meat, dairy and anything white (rice, milk, bread, flours, potatoes, etc.). Once I did this, I started to see a transformation in my health that is natural, safe and permanent. I also added raw veggies, fruits and unprocessed foods of all types. The more natural the food, the better. For example: apples are better than apple juice or apple sauce because to make the juice or sauce they take away the nutrients.

hey good luck with your weight loss efforts!
