------------------------------------

I should start off by saying I have always been really bad about keeping any kind of journal. I'm hoping that I will be able to keep up with this one to use as a way of a food/exercise/experience journal. And maybe a place to vent a little frustration. : )

So I started my hard core dieting two weeks ago. I'm counting calories, which I've never really done before. It hasn't been too difficult, other than having to make detailed grocery lists and semi-planned ahead meals. And not getting to eat out very much.

Besides dieting I am also trying to exercise. I hate exercising. Hah. However I did put together a Gazelle Max (or whatever it is called) that was laying around useless in my parent's garage. I've already started to use it, and to my surprise it actually feels nice to use. I'd like to get to a point where I am exercising for 30 minutes in the morning and again in the evening during the work week. Weekends are always a little different, so while I will try and fit some time in I don't think I'll be able to manage the normal scheduled times.

As far as long or short-term goals... I honestly haven't thought too much about setting them. For me, every pound lost is a goal made. My initial goal was to get under 300 (I started to cut back about a month before my actual diet plan). So really I've already met one major goal. The one weight goal I am waiting, and have been waiting for since around middle school, is to be under 200. The first time the scale reads 199 I will be ecstatic. After that I think it will be just the 10 pound increments until my final weight goal.

Okay, I think that's enough of an intro. Probably too much. But such is life. : )

If this journal goes according to plan then it will be filled with pages of posts of my daily food/exercise journals, random thoughts, as well as random thoughts from other people.

Taking that into mind, I have set aside this post to link to all my individual food/exercise journals. If I'm looking for something specific I'd rather not have to weed back through pages of posts to find what I'm looking for. : )

I tried to make a low calorie brownie recipe last night. It called for black beans instead of flour. Honestly I thought it was a good idea, several people had left comments about them not being sweet enough and such. So my mom and I tweaked the recipe a bit adding more Splenda, cocoa, instant coffee, and a touch more baking powder.

In the end we had a browniesque looking creation. I was very excited. However that excitement quickly vanished after my first bite. Even with the added Splenda they were barely sweet and even with 5 table spoons of cocoa... well I couldn't even taste the cocoa, all I could taste were the beans.

*sighs* Back to the drawing board I guess. : (

I was rather frustrated and angry last night when I decided to get an Arby's wrap for dinner. I went for a wrap instead of the bread because I thought it would be a wiser choice. I was very, very wrong. When I got home to tally up the calories I found out that the wrap had over 700 calories total, while the sandwich was only like 500ish.

I wish there were more places with decent diet friendly food that wasn't just all salads. : / Some times I'm just too tired to mess with cooking and adding while I cook and waiting for things to finish cooking.... Blah.

Hi Brittnay!

I want to say that this quote you made "For me, every pound lost is a goal made." is wonderful!! That is very wise...and you're right. Every pound is something to be proud of! :)
