Well I guess I better introduce myself. I'm a 29 year old from Indiana. Currently residing with family and working for the family bussiness. Now onto my weight loss journey. My first diet was back in 2006, LA Weright Loss. I lost 20 pounds, then put them right back on. Also tried Weright Watchers, but that failed because I could still eat my junk food. So here I am again wanting to shape up and loose weight.

making something up myself. So I buy books. I currently have books on: The Real Age/You on a Diet, You are what you eat, Bob Green's Best Life, Paleo, Abbs Diet. I just got the Paleo books because I was curious about it and wanted to see if it was something I could do. If anyone has any ideas or reccomendations please let me know. I'm pretty much at my witts end.

Ok, since I have gone crazy looking at all my books, I am gonna take a crack at planning my own meals(gods help me!). So here is my start:

Breakfast - fruit smoothie or Kashi or Special K depending on my time

Lunch - a Lunchable of some sort, probably pizza

Dinner - ??? I have no ideas

You need to be having at least 1200 calories a day. What is a lunchables? How many calories is it? What sort of stuff do you have for dinner? Grilled chicken or fish is good, baked potato, brown rice, salad, etc. Have a look at other peoples diaries and get some ideas :D

A lunchable is a packaged meal there are many types, its popular with kids lunches. Not sure of the calories as my last one is in the fridge at work. Usually for dinner its been kashi Go Lean Chrunch, or spagetti, or velvita shells and cheese. I dont have an oven or stove top, I am working with hot plates, microwave, and toaster oven.

I thought the smoothies were a good idea because of the fruit, plus the recipies have the calories count on them. I guess I need simple stuff that I can make with my limited cooking implements. Oh and how do I figure the number of calories I eat a day?

Ok, I am a retard,, I have accumulated lots of cook books I need to go through them and see what I have. Several of the books are Vegan/Vegetarian, from when I dated a Vegan girl.....lol

You can work out how many calories you need to lose weight by using this: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

Packaged food isn't going to be as good for you as freshly made stuff. Can you take yogurt, home-made rice salad or something for your lunches? You can do rice and veg in a microwave, right? Stuff like that is good for you! Can you afford to buy a crock-pot/slow-cooker? You can pick one up quite cheaply and you can make chilli, casseroles and stuff in there. I swear by mine! Omelettes are healthy as well. Fresh soups are good for you and for taking for lunches as well.
