The penny dropped. Eventually!

Well. The penny has finally dropped with me and how to lose weight without dieting, supplements, fads or any other stuff. Eat healthy, eat more often and eat less calories than you burn. Ofcourse we all know this and i did too but i always look for the fast option and then do the whole on a diet, off a diet and on again routine.

What i've done
I'm usually a binge eating snack fiend. I work away so when i'm home im static and bored. Heres what ive done:-
-Found out my BMR as my exercise routine isn't up to much. Ate less calories than this. Simples!
-Bought a shed load of chicken breasts/strips/chunks etc. and the start of the week. I like chicken and turns out it likes me.
-Pre cooked meals such as casseroles etc. split it up into 4 or 5 meals each large portion i made and froze it. I also made up some chicken for using in fajitas. One fajita is nice and pretty good when eating only one for a quick meal.
-Ate more regularly. 5 times a day. 3 hours apart. 9-breakfast, 12-lunch, 3- normal meal, 6-small meal, 9- pre bed snack.
-Fresh fruit and veg. Thats a no brainer.

So, i've done this for a week. I know it seems early to be shouting results but let me explain. Most diets i've been on, in between meals i've been starving and i grow bored of the meals/options they have. Also, most diets stick to 3 meals a day policy and so even though my calorie/fat/carb intake is down. My metabolism has not sped up. NOW it has! I never feel hungry. EVER.

Sorry for waffling on a bit but i'm feeling this isn't a diet. I've just turned over a new leaf of healthy eating. I've lost a bit too much weight in my first week to consider it healthy weight loss (7lbs in 7 days). But, i think that may just be a combination of water weight/metabolism kicking in properly.

Its good you found something you can tolerate. Sometimes you have throw away the rule book in favor of something that that will at least keep you consistent. Also, it helps to develop a better appreciation for healthy foods, it reduces the resistances you may have.

I wish you all the luck

You're right. Because its not a 'fad diet' that's meant for short term. You're making lifestyle changes which are tolerable because they aren't radical (e.g. starving yourself on cabbage soup).

You've also honed in on some of the tricks for eating often on a busy schedule: planning. Cook half a week's chicken/lean meat at once, and steam rice late sunday and it'll last til friday.
