The last 10 (... or 15!)

I just bought Lyle McDonald's book: The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook

I have heard good things about this guy and have read up on some of his stuff at clutchfitness. I'll be reading this during downtime at work!

It also came with a home exercise guide and a calculator to figure exactly what you should be eating! I am excited to look through all this stuff :)

I've sat for hours reading his articles on his site; he's great! I'd really like the other book he has, something about the approach to flexible dieting. And, because I'm a bit of a geek, I can see myself getting his Protein Book in the future as well lol

Enjoy the book! I'd like a review when you're done! (If you don't mind, that is:))

I've read the articles and some posts on clutch fitness too. Very interesting stuff!

So far I don't like this book very much. It is basically describing a very low calorie diet, 400-1200 calories per day, and suggests that you do virtually no exercise during this time. The science behind everything is interesting, but I don't like the idea of going on a strict diet that you're only adhering to for a short time. I would rather adopt good habits that I can keep for life!

I am still going to read it and take away whatever I can :)

My Tony has Fridays off and usually drives me to work. We have made a habit of stopping at Einstein Bagels Friday mornings for bagels and coffee. I have gotten just the coffee the past two weeks and today Tony didn't get a bagel either.

It turns out that neither of us have really wanted a bagel in the morning, just the coffee! I thought Tony wanted one and he thought I did. All that willpower for nothing...

Its only because it takes a lot more to lose than it does to maintain. Plus, if I remember correctly the book is mainly for people trying to get to very low bodyfat levels which is extremely difficult. I'm even more entrigued now lol

My husband and I do that stuff all the time! We've ended up NOT going to a restaurant that we both wanted to try because we both thought the other didn't really want to try it. I love hearing about other people being that way; it seems so often that many couples operate the opposite way - each trying to force their own way on the other. It does get a little annoying to us though, never knowing what the other really wants because both are being so giving. Such problems huh? :)
