The importance of water intake / cutting out soda

I've been taking care of what I eat and performing regular exercise for around the past 3 months now. However, all this time i was continually drinking a LOT of soda, Coke in particular (I'm talking 1.5-2 Litres a day) and very little water (2/3 glasses, tops).

But now, since this monday (5 days now) I've been drinking at least 2 Litres of water everyday and have had no soda whatsoever. Can i expect this change alone to be quite significant? I've read here before people saying you'd be amazed at how much cutting out soda from your diet will help. Just wondering if these are very significant changes in my lifestyle which will heavily reflect in my aim to lose fat, or whether it's just another small piece which will contribute, but not massively.

Thankyou.

It will help. I cut out soda ( I drank as much as you ) and only drank water and it does make a big difference. You will lose the weight cutting out soda.

i had a similar experience - cutting out soda (I drank a lot of juices, too) and it made a lot of difference in my weight, over time!

Switching to water showed nice improvement for me within the first week. Now water and milk is all I drink. I don't drink juice because of the sugar.
