the hardest part

i would say the hardest part of starting a new diet is having to not eat bread. im trying to do a low carb diet, but i love bread and ice cream...whats some good solutions?
 
You can have bread. I eliminate the starchy carbs at night. As far as the ice cream goes.........you can substitute frozen yogurt........but it might just be best for you to lose it. Why tempt yourself with things that are sabatoging your efforts?

I assume that you exercise.
 
yeah thats what my pt told me too, not to eat ice cream, but i would have to say if theres one food im addicted to thats it, so it will be difficult to just completely cut it out of my system, i will have to do it slowly, i guess frozen yogurt will have to do at first. and yes i excercise, i dance and walk, but i plan to start going to the gym after this week, im just finishing up with school.
 
Keep the ice cream

I don't know if this works because I am new to diet and exercise but thought that this would work. I too love ice cream. So what I do is take 2 small scoops of ice cream add it to bowl 1/2 full of blueberries or any other fruit I have put some chocolate syrup on it, Wha-La.
Eating mostly fruit, still get satisfaction of eating ice cream.

Its kind of like the theory that doing something is better than nothing. You have to start somewhere.
