The hard part...

So, I screwed up! Last night I had work, then class and from class I went to my fiance's house. Before getting to her house I stopped at Wal-mart to get a birthday gift for a family friend. I was hungry and I knew that my fiance had made food for dinner but next thing I know, I pick up a box of Reese's pieces and once I got in my car i started munching on them and then this morning I needed a coffee and next thing you know I have them add one of those delicious pumpkin spiced donuts. I used to say that I don't eat that bad but having these high in sugar treats here and there add up. I have to learn to choose healthier options and I need to get myself to the point of automatically doing it.

Glad to see you started a journal! Don't beat yourself up too much on the sweets. Accept it, move on, and try to make better choices. I totally get it though. I have to make cupcakes tonight, and I already want to stuff my face with them. :blush5:

Hi :waving:

It's hard not to cave to temptation, especially when your hungry! We all struggle with it (or we probably wouldn't be here!) and I think it partly comes down to habit...if you always grab a quick pack of sweets or doughnut or whatever then that is what you will always do. Like jen-renee said, don't beat yourself up over it, it's all part of the learning curve. Weight loss is less about counting calories and clocking up exercise, and more about the lifestyle change that comes with it. Crack that, and you've cracked weight loss :)

If you know you are likely to pick up extras when you go shopping, try only taking a limited amount of cash, that way you can't afford the extras. Or get super organised and get things all in one go so you limit the amount of times you have to pop in somewhere. If you know you will be hungry at certain times, stock up on fruit or raw vegetables that you can carry around with you. It's just about altering your routine and learning to make better choices. It's completely do-able and don't give up trying, even when you slip! :hurray:
