The effects of booze on yur body!

I used to be in shape when I was in high school but joined the merchant marines, became an alcoholic, and shot up to 220 pounds. Four months ago I quit drinking an changed my life, now weighing 170, and doing triathlons. See for yourself. Don't drink beer.

First one is from six months ago,

Second one was taken on my roomies cam today.

ummmm wowww :D

that only took you 6 months honestly? How much cardio did you do

well

I stopped drinking four months ago, and have been working out for 3 months now, very serious for two months. I started out by doing 30 mins on the treadmill three times a week. This turned into 5-6 days a week plus my job (waiter in a two story restaurant, very busy).

I got bored of the treadmill after a few weeks after i started doing 40 mins at high speed, so i started doing 15 mins on tread mill, bike, and elliptical at high speeds doing push ups in between. Then i started running outside. I started running 2 miles, then kept upping it to about 6-8 miles three times a week. I was afraid my joints would get hurt with so much running so i bought a roadbike after killing myself on 20 mile mtn bike rides. I started road biking 100 - 150 mils a week, cut my running down to 2 - 3 days a week, joined a gym and started going three days a week with 45 mins cardio and then light lifting. I also do yoga 2 times a week to help me joints when running and cycling. I still maintain as a fulltime student and work 30 hours a week as well.

Good food, no alcohol, no pot, no tobacco.

I got on the sac state cycling team, starting training with the tri team, and its all uphill from now on!

foodwise...

Breakfast:

1/2 cup oatmeal in water, flavor with splenda and cinnamon
1 egg, 1 egg white, over easy
apple or orange
glass of soy milk

Same almost everyday, will eat more on days i bike 50 miles (usually saturday, do double serving of oats) once and a while i go out to breakfast with my pops, usually have a veggie omelet.

2 hours Later: Snack, usually cottage cheese, hardboiled egg, small can of tuna, fruit, 1/2 of peanutbutter sandwich with wheat bread, yogurt, peanuts, etc...

Lunch: Salad with chicken, pb sandwhich with cottage cheese and celery smothered in salsa, tofu tacos, turkey club on wheat no mayo, fish fillets

2 hour snack: same as earlier

Dinner: On days I work out this is protien heavy, i eat mostly fish, soy, and organic chicken, not much beef or pork. I like to make stir fries, bbq, baked fish. On bike and run days more carb intensive, whole wheat penne with pesto, butternut squash on the grill, maybe i go out to eat and get sushi or Italian food, whatever.

Then i snack again at night similar to the rest of the day.

I drink a ton of water, do not eat saimple carbs, dont eat dairy cept for cheese sometimes, organic meat eggs, natural foods... blah blah blah.

A few times a month when I have cycled alot I will go into hunger mode and just eat whatever i want for two days. This is still all good food, healthy and what not, i just eat 4 times as much.

No fastfood, no frozen food, no processed food.

Thats about it.

i find it hard to believe he's changed his body to that extent with hardly any weight workouts i dont believe running will just cut it (pardon the pun). i wouldn't mind seeing a before pic with the tattoo showing.if im wrong ill hold my hands up
