AHas anyone tried the cereal diet? And what are your thoughts on it?

I am currently doing it now I eat one regular meal a day and the other 2 meals I eat cereal im doing ok so far ive only been doing it for 3 days. Does it really work?

Anything with the word diet in it makes my nose snarl. You don't need a diet to get healthy. It's about a lifestyle change, not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It all works together.

It might "work" in the weight loss sense, but it sounds like just another diet to add to a yo-yo dieter's list. It still comes down to overall calories eaten, so you'd still have to watch portions. Just having cereal wouldn't be a very good way to get all of the nutrients like vitamins and minerals that you need in a day, so I'd be worried about deficiencies if done for a long time.

I didnt realize that this was actually a diet until I ready this thread then did some research. Anyway I am on the " Cereal Diet" and by accident. I started eating cereal for breakfast and lunch about 2 weeks ago when I started my diet. I got rid of all the high calorie foods in my house and when it came breakfast and lunch time.... sometimes even dinner I would crave something sweet and the only thing I had in the house that was sweet and filling was cereal so I found myself eating cereal 2 times a day. I have been doing this for a about 3 weeks. When I started my diet I weighted 236lbs today I weigh 222 so I would have to say its working pretty well for me. But I do also take vitamins every day to make sure Im getting everything I need. Good luck

That's great that it's work for you for losing weight! Unfortunately, even taking vitamins doesn't ensure that you'll get all of the nutrients that you need. They are really only meant as a back up for a well-rounded diet, just in case there might be something that's a bit lacking. Vitamins won't make up for deficiencies from not eating a wide variety of foods most days.

Totally agree...nothing can beat a balanced diet. Just go easy on carbohydrates and high fat foods. If you switch to eating only one type of food [in this case cereals] you will soon get bored of it and the day you transgress and sample something else.....you may end up binging; and that is something you need to avoid
