The Beginning

Well Here are a couple pics of my beginning. This is me today. I hope to shave off 15-20 more lbs and tone up. It will probably take me a couple months, but I hope to have at least accomplished the weight loss by august. I want to be able to wear my bikini with confidence and not hide it all behind a towel. Since gaining back this weight i've been feeling alot less confident in everything I wear. I feel like i'm starting to hide and be ashamed rather than be happy with who I am and accept me just the way I am. I just know that I have room for improvement and I have pictured what I can look like and it motivates me alot more.. Just last month I was able to squeeze into my old jeans no problem. I could see the weight loss. Now they are uber tight again.
Most of my weight sits in my belly, sides (love handles), butt and legs. I could probably take some weight off my back too. And My Hips are naturally wide.

So.... *gulp* here they are. I know if posted these on any other website I would be ridiculed. I hope to have some in betweens at the end of the month. Sorry if they are a bit blurry. I don't have a small digi cam just my big honkin slr.

This is not like other little teenager sites where people get some kind of odd pleasure from calling others fat or ugly.

Other than your body type, which is more hourglassy than mine :(, I was in a pretty similar situation at the beginning of the year. I used to wear sweatpants and sweatshirts to school every day to hide the fat on my belly, and you'd have had to put a gun to my head to get me into a bikini. Since then I've lost about 15 pounds, and I'm still losing, but I feel SOOOOOO much better. It is completely worth all the hard work that goes into it.

Good luck! I'll follow your thread!

I've been where you are now! You're not in a desperate situation, believe me! It seems you don't have a lot of muscle, so what I would recommend to you is to increase the protein intake (use supplements), reduce, but not eliminate), carbs and invest heavily in weight training. Don't waste your time walking (if you ever thought about it)!

Thank you for the positive feedback!!
I know i'm not fat or deperate but I do feel like I could work harder to look better.
And you're right laura I do not have alot of muscle. I used to be a bit toned when I was like 14-15 but as I got older and esp when I got out of school and the physical activities stopped, everything turned to chub. I used to swim and dance alot.. I'd really love to get back into both. Hey i've seen at home workout dvd's where they teach u dance routines, tae bo etc and such that will help tone up your mucles. Do those really work??

I've never been much of a walker or runner either. I don't have the endurance for running and never have. I prefer swimming and bike riding.
I guess my main focus for now will be to start getting in the habit of eating better. I think if I jump into weight training right away at the same time I wont keep up with it lol. It'll be too overwhelming. But i'll definetely start taking in more protein and trying different things to see what works best.

May I suggest a workout program to follow. I use Billy's Bootcamp and it's great at keeping you in shape, and for loosing weight. Basically the first week is supposed to be low carb, and then after that you can eat whatever that's in you caloric range. It's a really great program. I enjoy it a lot and I think that you would enjoy it too.
