Thank god

Thank god i got out of the myspace forum those guys are retards.

Now I'm 185 and fairly lean I want to bulk up to around 220 should i be worried about putting on body fat or should I just gain as much weight as i can and try to cut the fat later.

Uhh, I'd eat right to prevent gaining fat. I tihnk I read from Karky (I'm not sure, so dont' quote him or me on this) that healthy muscle gain is about 1lb per week. You can't gain no fat while bulking, but you don't ahve to just put on weight for the hell of it. You'll need to cut some later of course, but there isn't any reason to purposely allow yourself to become alot fatter in addition to putting on more muscule just because you know you'll cut.

I doubt you read that from karky because karky is seemingly intelligent. A gain of around 1-2 pounds a month of FFM would be considered optimal and realistic.
You seem to have a decent grasp on the simple stuff. I'm somewhat surprised you stated that^.

what I usually say is that I shoot for something like 0.5-1lbs WEIGHT gain a week. Because it's very hard to gain a steady 1-2 pounds a month, you're diet would have to be very spot on and you would have to eat the exact ammount of cals you needed every day. Bulking with no fat gain is very hard, and I think it can be better to shoot for a higher weight gain and gain some fat, without going overboard and overeating ofcource.

This is an excellent article on the subject of bulking:
