Tell me how this is possible??

I started lifting religiously 2 1/2 months ago. I weighed 200 when I started, and now I weigh 200! But, my arms/chest are WAY more toned, my stomach flatter, just all around more toned and fit. How is this possible when I have been eating at or less then my maintenance calorie levels? Shouldn't I be losing weight/fat while keeping some muscle, and not gaining muscle while losing fat?!? I know my diet is dead on. This may be normal for a beginner, I'm just wondering...

Lol, cool! How long does it usually last? And, can I take advantage of this somehow? (i.e. work harder now while I can get bigger easier?)

yeah, it getts remarkably harder to loose fat and gain muscle at the same time when your past the beginner stage. Some even say its impossible, and most just dont bother with it because its a slow process.

how do you know your maintenance calories? did you actually track them for 2 weeks, or did you use a calculator?

cuz a calculator only gives you a very rough estimate...it could be off by 20%!

Wow! I used a calculator. Uhh, how do you track it?

is a great place to track your diet. Once you track your diet and get it spot on, I guarantee you'll be good to go paired with a solid routine.

Oh, if your talking about Fitday, I do that already!.....I see what your saying about tracking it...use a calc to find your number, then track using fitday. SO yeah, like I said, i'm eating around my maintenance if not less.
