Heya! So I joined this site to motivate myself to keep losing the weight. So here goes!

Personal Details
Gender: Female
Age: 19 years
Height: 1.68m (5,5 ft)
Weight: 85,9kg (189 lb)
Goal: 65kg (143 lb)

I plan on learning a lot of K-pop choreographies, because I feel like this would be a fun way to get some exercise.
List of choreo's I know so far:
- Twice "TT"
- Orange Caramel "My Copycat"

Currently learning:
- Twice "Signal"

Food Diary - June 07
Breakfast: Turkey sandwich (+- 250)
Lunch: Meat bun (261), small glass of Low calories Citrus Ice Tea (38)
Snack: Cherry yoghurt (204)

I'm used to drinking Energy drinks, and snacking on very unhealthy food like crisps, but I hope I can make a difference by going for healthy options (Yeah the yoghurt wasn't really healthy, bought that before I came on here).

Welcome

I forgot to mention, my boyfriend and I are going on summer holiday to Slovenia! So I would love to have a nicer body while spending most of my time on the beach. My birthday is July 30th, and I hope to have reached a nice weight by then, though I have no idea what would be a realistic goal for 1 and a half months.

Food Diary - June 07
Food

Breakfast: Turkey sandwich (+- 250)
Lunch: Meat bun (261)
Snack: Cherry yoghurt (204)

Snack: Low fat cherry yoghurt (+- 150)

Drinks:
Small glass of Low calories Citrus Ice Tea (38)
Drank a little more Citrus Ice Tea (19)
About 500ml of water (0)

Total: 1,422 kcal

Weight this morning: 85,9kg. (189 lb) (I don't expect it to change that quickly but I thought I'd just report my weight here every day)
Exercise: 4 hours at work, 1 hour riding my bike.
Hours of sleep: 6:00 - 11:00 (5 hours)

I was very proud of myself today. I was going to the grocery store to get me some sour cream crisps to practice with portion control, but I knew I wouldn't be able to keep myself restricted to only a handful of crisps. Then I wanted to get a 1L bottle of cherry coke, but I felt guilty so I put it back and got a little can (330ml). It's not healthy, but compared to the 2 large bags of crisps I was going to get (over 2000 calories)... I feel like I can be proud of myself only getting a can of coke (152 calories).

One of the causes of me being slightly overweight is, that my sleeping pattern is WAY off. I go to sleep at... Between 4am - 6am on average I would say. Part of the reason it's that off is because I have my dream job (next to my normal job) of being a video editor for a popular Youtube channel. The owner of the channel is from Australia, and being from Europe, I'm 8 hours behind on him. So if I need to discuss anything with him, it's usually in the middle of the night.
Because of this, I usually get the munchies very late at night, rather than in the morning / afternoon. It's hard for me to eat anything at all before dinner, but when I go to work I will always do my best to take something with me. Because I do know it's very important to eat something every few hours. But yeah, I should really try to control my food cravings at night, and I suppose the solution is to go to bed earlier. It's been very hard to do that but I'll try to improve it.

I feel very positive when I look at the food diaries I made so far (before joining this forum, too). I feel like I'm finally on the right track.

Food Diary - June 08

Lunch: Fruit bar (128)
Dinner: 400 grams of spinach (216), chicken breast (450)

I will add anything if necessary tonight, but so far Total: 960 kcal

Its hard to just give up those foods you love. Trading 1 liter for a can instead is a positive change.

Slice of a small watermelon (+- 50)
Can of cherry coke (152)

Total: 1,162

Hi, Syd & welcome to the forum. You need to eat more real food hon & less processed stuff. Good lean protein & lots of veg, some fresh fruit, don't go under 1200 cals for the day, get more sleep.......Patterns can be changed, but you have to really work on them. You can do this. Being healthy is very important. A holiday to Slovenia will be lovely. I'm sure you'll look good.

I know, I love veggies, but right now I don't leave on my own so what I eat for dinner is pretty much depending on what my housemates cook. ^^ But I'll be moving out soon, and after that I can make all of my own food decisions.

That will be better. Meanwhile, you could maybe buy some fresh fruit to snack on. Bananas are excellent & filling :)

To be honest, I really don't like bananas :p I love apples, watermelon, pears, pineapple, grapes, etc etc. ^^

That's ok. I didn't used to love bananas either. Fruit is so convenient & comes in its own wrapper. :)

So last weekend hasn't gone too well.
I was at my dad's place, and I don't want to let them know that I'm trying to lose weight. The reason is that I do not want to draw attention to myself, and I don't want to feel like they are expecting something from me. Also I don't want to take the risk that I fail losing weight and have them think something negative about me.

But the other thing is, my dad doesn't really have that much healthy things in his house. No fruits or low calorie drinks (except water). This has led me to eat quite some unhealthy things the past weekend. I do not know 100% what I ate which day, but I'll try to be as accurate as possible (especially the glasses of sodas I've had could differ). The next 2 weeks I'll be at home again so I'll spend a good amount of hours working off the calories I've had the past weekend!

Weight this night: 85,4 kg (188 lb)
Weight lost so far: 0,5 kg (1 lb)

I'm surprised I've actually lost weight looking at my food diary.

After looking up the products on a food site, I made some assumptions about the amount of calories I had.

June 09: 2040 kcal
June 10: 1650 kcal
June 11: 1640 kcal

So it's actually not as bad as I thought, besides the fact that these foods are obviously unhealthy. Once again I tried to be as accurate as possible.

By the way, when my dad and I were at the grocery store, he insisted on buying me a bag of crisps for me to take home.
I didn't give in though. :p So I guess that's at least something positive about the weekend.

It's not like I'm eating a lot less at dinner or lunch or something, I just eat a LOT less unhealthy snacks. It's so surprising how little I actually eat when I exclude the snacks.

Your calories are way too low Syd & there's not much nutrition there. You would be much better off drinking water & more real food. Losing weight at the cost of your health is not the answer.

I've noticed I've been struggling with finding a healthy balance. I don't really snack anymore, but I don't really know how I can substitute that with healthy but filling food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner etc are nothing different from what I used to eat, and that's why I've been struggling with this.

Honey, cookies are not lunch. Real food is fresh vegetables, lean protein, yoghurt, cheese, fresh fruit, nuts, legumes, whole grains.....Food should be nutritious. It sustains life. Counting calories, but ignoring nutrition is not looking at your future health.
935 calories are not enough.

There was a problem last night that had to be taken care of, that's why I couldn't go to work and why I've been asleep till so late. I tried to take in some more calories after dinner, because I knew just dinner would never be enough. It still isn't a lot, and I didn't mean for this to happen. But at least it's not just 410 calories.
