Switching Up Cardio - HELP!!!

Hello -

I have recently begun working out and have been doing 60 minutes of cardio 6days a week - all on the eliptical (yes - I am doing weight training too).

Someone came up to me in the gym and told me that I need to switch it up and try treadmill, bike, etc because my body will get use to the eliptical - and my results will stop.

Is this correct?

THat doesn't make sense to me...as far as the type of exercise..

IMHO what your body will get used to is HOW you exercise....meaning if you continually do one hour every day...identical workout after identical workout...your body will get used to that, and it will become less effective..

It's not about quantity as much as quality...

Exactly what SonofJorEl said - your body won't get used to the type of exercise. You simply need to increase intensity or use intervals. And even this is mostly if you want to achive more results (i.e. if you want to be more fit) and to make sure you don't get bored. Not geting bore, BTW, is something you should worry about if you are doing this 6 days per week.
