Swimming...

Yes, but ive heard you cant get ripped from doing swimming because swimming when in the cold water, the body trys and keeps a layer of fat on u to keep you warm. Is this true?

But i think its right, i mean Ian Thorpe aint ripped and he swims all the time.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm... wouldnt being in cold water make the body burn more calories in order to keep the body warm? that plus the exercise would create a ripping effect, no?

Ian Thorpe isnt ripped? what does he look like?

does he look muscular? does he look a fat weakling? i've never heard of this guy, thats why i ask

k i just looked up some pics of ol' thorpe. he's got a great physique. true, he aint ripped, he's got more of a "natural" look. makes me wanna start swimming again.

surely its a good 'base' to start off. If you lose the fat, when you do come to bulking up, it'll be a lot easier to look ripped because the muscle won't be burried under a lot of fat.

As for the idea that your body trying to keep a layer of fat on you, that can't be right. When you do exercise, fat is turned into glucose which is then used up by the body. Where would the fat come from? If it came from the glucose you would have no energy to do anything. The only way you can build fat is eating. The only thing that might happen is fat moving from one part to another but I doubt that
