swimming after weight session?

is it good to have a swim atfer weights, 2 relax the muscles?

That wont relax your muscles. You can do some soft-tissue work after to help with recovery. Or use the hot-tub and stretch out. But the foam roller soft tissue work is the best option.

It might be fun, but if you want somethign benificial get a foam roller and do the soft-tissue work. Your body will thank you.

I agree with Lara. Soft tissue work is great. I tend to have my clients wait 5 minutes or so after weight training (depending on the CNS emand) before going for soft tissue type therapy. Stretching is also an obvious way of "relaxing" muscles. Swimming at a low impact level will help with lactic acid and decrease DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). Also, swimming alleviates a lot of gravity from your body. This should help you efficiently use (prehab) ancillary and stabilizer muscles around your "ball and socket" joints.

thats what i meant sorry, take the lactic acid away... so it isnt as sore the next day

It will not hurt your gains. You should be just fine. I would not swim more than 20 minutes here. If you trained more than 45 minutes than a PWO should be used. All you need is a small amount of protein (or just BCAA capsules) and simple sugar with electrolytes (gatorade).
